The Loophole is a sci-fi retelling of The American Civil War. Polly Danfield, a biracial scientist living in rural Georgia and her interracial family are hiding from the war. But despite their various attempts at not get involved, a strange phenomenon and the mysterious Alligator Queen keep bringing the war to them.  When her fiance Acker finds himself a part of the all Black 33rd Regiment of the Union Army, they all must determine which version of themselves they want to be and how to set themselves free.

Mama your baby’s long gone

Acker finds himself fighting with the all Black 33rd Regiment of the Union Army and the Confederate Army does not accept the surrender of Black soldiers. The 33rd is decimated in slow motion.
